Labor Day

Today was a national holiday, Labor Day. We were invited to Kolya and Natasha's house. Kolya is a seminary student, and he also preaches in Tsurupinsk village church. He has a 2 1/2-year old son and a 5-week old daughter.
Kolya and Natasha have running water in the house, but today the pump was not working, and we had to use the well. The kids all enjoyed pumping the water. Nadia asked if we could put a pump in our yard.
Hard work paid off.
Baby Elizabeth's clothes drying in the sun. Most Ukrainians do not own dryers.
Kolya and Nadia talking before reading Scripture. As is the custom here, the table was full of tasty foods. Most everything was home made. We played a traditional game with Easter hard-boiled eggs. Two people hit each other's eggs to see which one cracked. The one that does not crack is the winner. He/she goes around the circle, hitting eggs with everybody else. The last person with an uncracked egg is the grand winner. Then everybody eats their eggs.
The traditional Paskha (Easter) bread and eggs.
