We did have a little trouble at the train station in Kiev. It was foggy/misting with temperatures around freezing. This covered everything with a thin layer of slippery ice. Once inside the terminal there really is no place to go with all of our bags (8 big suitcases and a backpack for each person). We were told to be on the look out for thieves by the guy we hired to help us move our bags. He told Julia, "It is Ukraine after all." So for 3 hours, we sat near a wall keeping watch and eating our sandwhich dinner.

When we finally learned our track number, the train stewardess gave us a hard time about the number and size of bags we had. She did not want to let us on the train and was a little grumpy about everything. I just pushed my way through and loaded them up. The train stewardess and I pleasantly talked a little the following morning while Julia slept. (She had a rough night with Aggie.)
